Bio
Dr. Yixiang Wang is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). He received his bachelor's degree from Dalian University of Technology in 2017 and his master's and doctoral degrees from HKUST in 2019 and 2025, respectively. He previously worked as a research associate in Mechanical Engineering at The University of Hong Kong. His research combines molecular dynamics simulations, computational fluid dynamics, machine learning and experimental studies to investigate ice formation, ion transport and separation processes for water desalination and resource recovery. His publications include studies of freeze desalination, heterogeneous ice nucleation and lithium-selective membranes in Advanced Science, Physical Review Research, Desalination and The Journal of Physical Chemistry B. He has contributed to GRF-funded research and the XPRIZE Water Scarcity competition, and has mentored master's students.
